Xenoblade Chronicles - Original Soundtrack OST

The first album in the collection is the Xenoblade Chronicles - Original Soundtrack OST, which was released on June 23, 2010 by Dog Ear Records. It contains 91 tracks from the original Wii version of Xenoblade Chronicles, which was later remastered for the Nintendo Switch as Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. The album covers the music from the title screen and the game's cutscenes, as well as the battle music and the music from the open world areas of the game. The tracks are divided into four CDs, each with a character portrait on the label: Shulk on Disc One, Fiora on Disc Two, Reyn on Disc Three, and Sharla on Disc Four.

The album showcases the diverse musical styles of the four composers: Yoko Shimomura (eleven songs), ACE+ (29 songs), Manami Kiyota (50 songs), and Yasunori Mitsuda (one song). Shimomura is known for her work on Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy XV, and she composed some of the main themes and emotional pieces for Xenoblade Chronicles. ACE+ is a trio of Tomori Kudo, CHiCO, and Kenji Hiramatsu, who worked on Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross with Mitsuda. They contributed some of the most energetic and dynamic tracks for the game's battles and environments. Kiyota is a newcomer to video game music, but she impressed with her atmospheric and ambient pieces that capture the mood and tone of each location. Mitsuda is a legendary composer who created the music for Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Xenogears, and Xenosaga. He composed only one song for Xenoblade Chronicles, but it is arguably one of the most important ones: Beyond the Sky, the theme song that plays during the ending credits. The song was performed by Sarah Ãlainn, with lyrics written by Tetsuya Takahashi (the director of the game) and translated into English by Lisa Gomamoto.
