Ridley - Season 1

Every season, GBH Drama prepares to bring you coverage of the latest and greatest in British dramas. This month, we're getting a brand new series from MASTERPIECE: Ridley Road. Featuring intrigue, history, and an often overlooked dramatic storyline, this series does not disappoint. GBH Drama contributor Amanda-Rae Prescott is here to recap the magic as it happens.

Ridley - Season 1

He first appeared in the fifteenth episode of the first season, as Sam's fake date to Fallon's wedding, but was later revealed as also being Fallon's "husband" in a convoluted plan concocted by Fallon to circumvent the Colbys' attempt for revenge on the Carringtons. However, Fallon and Liam's relationship does not end after their fake marriage fulfills its purpose, and after a series of ups and downs, Fallon and Liam realize their love for each other, though hurdles between their love are never-ending. They are currently married.

Alpha-Beta is Reagan's creation, and was initially her pride and joy, up until he went rogue, their relationship becomes hostile as he wishes to destroy all of humanity. Despite the danger he poses to herself and society, Reagan spared him and tucked him away somewhere secret, to study, likely for a future experiment. Reagan regularly visits and talks to him, though he frequently attempts to trick her into relinquishing her hold on him. Reagan is kind enough however, to reward him with seasons of Friends to watch, should he say her in her various escapades. For the brief time she is CEO of Cognito, she does bring him up to the surface of the building, a gesture he seems to genuinely appreciate.

"We were first made aware of the league's investigation on Feb. 9. We have cooperated fully with the investigation since receiving notice and support the league's findings and actions," the team said in a statement. "We are moving forward in the 2022 season with the decision that was made. With the decision that was made by the NFL, any further questions on the investigation should be directed to the league office."

The Kemp's ridley turtle has a triangular-shaped head with a slightly hooked beak. Hatchlings are darkly colored on both sides. Adults are generally a grayish-green color on top with a pale, yellowish bottom shell. The top shell (carapace) is often as wide as it is long. Each of the front flippers has one claw while the back flippers may have one or two.

The Kemp's ridley is one of two species of sea turtles that engage in "arribada" nesting, where large groups of females gather offshore and come onto the beach to nest all at once. Nesting in large groups may be a defense against predators, or a result of environmental factors influencing nesting. With many turtles coming ashore together and many nests subsequently hatching at the same time, the large numbers of hatchlings entering the ocean may help to overwhelm predators and ensure that more hatchlings make it to open water to reduce predation. The other species of sea turtle that nests en masse is the olive ridley. They are the only sea turtles that routinely nest during the day.

Depending on their breeding strategy, male Kemp's ridleys occupy many different areas within the Gulf of Mexico. Some males migrate annually between feeding and breeding grounds, yet others may not migrate at all, mating with females encountered at their feeding grounds or near nesting beaches. Female Kemp's ridleys have been tracked migrating to and from nesting beaches in Mexico and south Texas. Females leave breeding and nesting areas and migrate to foraging areas ranging from the Yucatán Peninsula to southern Florida to the north-central Gulf of Mexico. Some females take up residence in specific foraging grounds for months at a time and return to the same foraging grounds in subsequent years.

Vessel strikes are a threat to sea turtles near ports and waterways along developed coastlines throughout their range. Various types of watercraft can strike sea turtles when they are at or near the surface, resulting in injury or death. High boat traffic areas such as marinas and inlets present a higher risk. Adult sea turtles, in particular nesting females, are more susceptible to vessel strikes when making reproductive migrations and while they are nearshore during the nesting season.

For all sea turtles, a warming climate is likely to result in changes in beach morphology and higher sand temperatures, which can be lethal to eggs or alter the ratio of male and female hatchlings produced. Rising seas and storm events cause beach erosion, which may flood nests or wash them away. Changes in the temperature of the marine environment are likely to alter the abundance and distribution of food resources, leading to a shift in the migratory and foraging range and nesting season of kemp's ridleys.

The Mexican government has played a vital role in the conservation of the Kemp's ridley sea turtle. The Kemp's ridley turtle has benefited from legal protection by Mexico since the 1960s. In 1977, a refuge was established at the only known nesting beach and included the Rancho Nuevo nesting beach as part of a system of reserves for sea turtles. In 1990, a complete ban on taking any species of sea turtle was implemented by the Mexican government. In 2002, the beach at Rancho Nuevo was designated as a Natural Protected Area under the category of Sanctuary.

Ridley's future in Atlanta was already uncertain after he left the club for the bulk of the season to focus on his mental health. The team gave no indication when or if Ridley planned to return in 2022.

Adrian Dunbar has addressed the similarities between his two major policing roles. He's played Superintendent Edward 'Ted' Hastings in Line of Duty on the BBC since season one, and he's now playing a former detective in ITV's crime drama, Ridley.

Ridley was originally suspended March 7, 2022, after an NFL investigation discovered he bet on games during the 2021 season when he was a member of the Atlanta Falcons. Ridley later admitted he bet $1,500 total and some of his bets, included Falcons games. Ridley played only five games in 2021 after he stepped away from football to focus on his mental health.

Not much was known after Ridley's situation throughout the duration of his suspension until the Jaguars surprisingly traded for him in the middle of the 2022 season. Because of Ridley's reinstatement, Jacksonville will now send at least a 2023 fifth-round draft pick to Atlanta (it would have been only a sixth had he not). The Jaguars will also send as high as a 2024 second-round pick to Atlanta if Ridley makes the team, hits his playing time incentives and signs a long-term extension with Jacksonville.

Jacksonville finished the 2023 season with the 10th-best offense overall thanks to quarterback Trevor Lawrence and his supporting cast. Lawrence threw for 4,113 passing yards and 25 touchdowns, while wideouts Christian Kirk and Zay Jones finished with almost 2,000 combined receiving yards and 13 receiving touchdowns on 166 total receptions. Veteran receiver Marvin Jones added 529 yards and three touchdowns, while Evan Engram caught 73 balls for 766 yards and four touchdowns.

Now throw Ridley into the mix and second-year head coach Doug Pederson has a full arsenal at his disposal to defend the Jaguars' AFC South crown. Ridley was coming off a career year in 2020 before his shortened 2021 campaign. He caught 90 balls for 1,374 yards and nine touchdowns in this third season. Ridley tallied 1,687 yards and 17 touchdowns combined over his first two years in the league. He finished with 31 receptions for 281 yards and two scores in five games in 2021.

Last night I got an email asking if I wanted screeners for the new Netflix Preschool show Ridley Jones. I said yes and my kids and I feverishly watched season 1 before bedtime. Ridley Jones is an adventurous animated kids show, but how does it rank with other kids shows on Netflix? Ridley Jones is out now on Netflix. Below is my Ridley Jones Season 1 Review!

Ridley, 27, broke out for the Falcons in 2020 with 1,374 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. The 2018 first-round pick out of Alabama was expected to take on a starring role in the offense after the team traded longtime leading receiver Julio Jones to the Tennessee Titans last offseason, but Ridley played in just five games before stepping away.

The NFL has seldom handed out bans for gambling infractions. When the league suspended Arizona Cardinals defensive back Josh Shaw in 2019 through the completion of the following season, the Associated Press reported it was the first such penalty imposed since Baltimore Colts quarterback Art Schlichter was suspended in 1983 for betting on NFL games and other sporting events.

Calvin Ridley stepped away from the Falcons -- and the NFL -- after just five games in the 2021 season, citing mental health reasons. The star wide receiver won't be returning anytime soon. A week before the official start of the offseason, the NFL announced Monday that the 27-year-old Ridley has been suspended indefinitely -- at least through the 2022 season -- for betting on NFL games during his absence from football last season.

Ridley's Falcons future was already unclear after the former first-round pick did not return to Atlanta after his October departure. Now, he will be ineligible to apply for NFL reinstatement until at least Feb. 15, 2023, assuming he does not successfully appeal his suspension. Ridley's contract will toll one season as a result of his indefinite ban, meaning he is now under contract with the Falcons through at least 2023. That is unless Atlanta makes a subsequent move to release Ridley in the wake of this controversy. 041b061a72
