The plot of Puli

The story of Puli revolves around Marudheeran (Vijay), who is the adopted son of a tribal village chief named Vembunathan. On their way to Vedhalapuram, they encounter Manthagini (Hansika Motwani), the princess of Vedhalapuram, who is attacked by a panther. Marudheeran saves her and earns her gratitude and affection. They also meet Thalapathy Jalatharangan (Sudeep), the commander-in-chief of Vedhalapuram, who is cruel and ambitious. He has a secret plan to overthrow Yavanarani (Sridevi), the queen of Vedhalapuram, who is also a powerful sorceress.

Marudheeran and his friends enter the palace of Vedhalapuram as medicine makers, and soon win the trust of Yavanarani and the love of Manthagini. However, they also discover that Yavanarani is actually an evil queen who has been possessed by a demon named Vedhalamurthy. She has been using her magic to enslave the humans and torture them for her amusement. She also reveals that Marudheeran is actually her son, who was born as a half-demon and half-human. She had abandoned him when he was a baby because he had no horns or tail.

Marudheeran is shocked by this revelation, but he does not give up on his mission to free the humans from Yavanarani's tyranny. He also learns that Pavalamalli is still alive and held captive by Jalatharangan, who wants to marry her. Marudheeran decides to fight against both Yavanarani and Jalatharangan, with the help of his friends and some loyal Vedhalams who are opposed to Yavanarani's rule. He also finds out that he has inherited some special powers from his mother, which he uses to defeat his enemies. He also reunites with his true love, Pavalamalli, and his biological father, Pulivendhan (Vijay), who is the king of the humans and the leader of the rebellion against Yavanarani.
