Sorry for long post, but I've not found any other sites to rate for maths. I agree with the previous post that mymaths is a huge time waster for everyone and the set homework is ridiculous. I know they have to do it, but usually there are two weeks between the end of the term and the next one and that is plenty of time to prepare. I also think that the school need to be more creative in marking - I get bored marking after you have spent hours and hours trying to spot a mistake.
I would be more than happy to put my name in for my math's licence but unfortunately it costs £750.00 a year to get it. Do you think that the school might be willing to do this for me. I'm sure they would get a lot of money back as it is so popular. Please reply if you are able to help.
To add on, my maths teacher used to over-mark. For example I had a problem that looked like it was marked wrong and she marked the solution right. I made the mistake of complaining because I felt cheated and she just laughed.
The system is a bit rubbish. It's fine for students to use it if they're prepared, but many schools do force it on them, which is rubbish if you're actually learning maths. I used it a few years ago and had to wait ages after the test for the results of my test.
I've gotten over the teachers because they're still human. But I can't do anything about the system. It's out of my control, but I think it's a bad thing for education, especially in a state school. 827ec27edc
